An impressive refurbished Roundwood was enjoyed by six squads for our October shoot. A tremendous amount of work has taken place over the last 6 months to produce once again a stunning shooting ground. A visit to Roundwood is always well worth it with an abundance of well charged traps and of course that tower! The clearance at the rifle range area together with the impressive platform at the far end, now means that there is every form of target to shoot at. Out in the field area I counted over 30 traps again all fully charged and again with every variation imaginable. The combination of of it all made for an excellent shoot with scores in the 80’s proving to be difficult to achieve. Simon Lucas took the ‘high gun’ honours with an impressive 85, equally impressive was ‘B’ class winner Mark Bradshaw scoring 84 and also winning the most improved gun of the day with +12. Joint winners of ‘A’ class were both Nick Bullen & John Pool, meanwhile John Hatchard comfortably won ‘C’ class on 73. A smaller ‘D’ class entry was won by Kari Dobbs on 51.

Next month we visit a new venue for our FITASC calendar – Owls Lodge Shooting School, hosted by Richard & Tanya Faulds and their ground manager Lauren Goodman. Both Richard & Tanya are renowned champions in many disciplines and we are therefore extremely grateful to be able to use their ground for the November shoot. Details will follow in the usual manner, therefore if you are planning to shoot with us please book early to avoid disappointment.
Finally thank you to Chas Davis and the team at Roundwood for a superb day. As always many thanks to Greenfields at Salisbury for there very generous sponsorship and also to Rob Allen for his guidance and help with the scores and leaderboard.
